ADMISSIONS & REGRISTRATION POLICIES
Applicants for our Commercial Training Program must:
› Meet a minimum age requirement of 18 years prior to the graduation day
› Have a valid Illinois State's Driver License
› Have a social security number
TRAINING FACILITIES
The school is located near the major state highways, major freight lanes and hiring areas of trucking companies.
Our truck driving school features facilities that are developed to help make student's training as easy as possible. Some of these features include multimedia learning tools, a computerized driving simulator, well-designed student training materials and a large paved training ground. Hands-on training is given on 8 speed trucks with a 40ft. road trailer.
Classes are offered with flexible schedules 7 days a week.
GE TRANSMIMISSION DRIVING SIMULATOR
In our school students learn the proper way to shift the variety of transmissions over different grades pulling an assortment of loads, all from the safety and convenience of the classroom.
Alamo Truck Driving School is the only school that offers behind-the-wheel driving in a simulated environment. The virtual driving instruction allows drivers to gain important experience in potentially hazardous situations.

♦ CDL CLASS "A" TRAINING 240 HOURS $4,495.00
We recommend this program to all entry level drivers with no experience with manual transmission. The course provides 240 hours of training, 80 extra hours of time in the tractor driving, skills practice, and observation. One week of the extra time is spent learning the DOT Rules & Regulations, Log Book Hours of Service, Air Brakes and completing all CDL Endorsement testing. The price includes Secretary of State Fee, as well as, Hazardous materials endorsement fees.
♦ CDL CLASS "A" TRAINING 200 HOURS $3,795.00
This program just like the 240 hours course provides students with all the skills that an entry level driver needs.
♦ CDL CLASS "A" TRAINING 160 HOURS
This program of study is designed to train people who have no experience or training as over-the-road tractor-trailer truck drivers, preparing them for entry level employment in the transportation industry. The program includes these instructional units:
› 40 hours of classroom instruction
› 16 hours of training yard behind the wheel instructions
› 16 hours of behind the wheel instructions on public streets
› 88 hours of observation and additional classroom
× Without Permit: $2,975.00 in payments ($700.00 Down Payment). The tuition must be paid off by the 9th week or before the PTI Exam. $2,775.00 if paid in advance.
× With Permit: $2,775.00 in payments; $2,575.00 in advance
× CDL Class "A" Upgrade: $2,275.00 in payments; $2,075.00 in advance. This program is for students seeking for "upgrade" from a CDL Class B to a CDL Class A
× CDL Class "A" Refreshment Course 45 Hours: $1,775.00. This course is designed to meet student's needs, who currently hold a CDL License and need to refresh their skills.
× Customized Training: Individual driving classes - $80.00 per hour; Written Tests - $200.00 each (General Knowledge, Combination and/or Air Brakes).
COURSE EXPLANATION
The CDL Training Course at ALAMO TRUCK DRIVING SCHOOL lasts approximately 4-6 weeks. We will prepare the student to obtain the permit, in order to obtain the permit you will need to pass three exams, which are:
¹ GENERAL KNOWLEDGE (Approx. 240 questions)
² COMBINATION VEHICLE (Approx. 110 questions)
³ AIR BRAKES (Approx. 120 questions)
Once you obtain your permit, you will be directed to the practical part of the course, which includes preparation for taking the three final exams:
¹ PTI › (Pre Trip Inspection) Internal, External Vehicle Inspection prior to trip. To pass the PTI Exam, you will have to walk around the vehicle and tell the examiner what you are checking and why.
² SKILLS › Maneuvering a truck in the yard
³ ROAD TEST › Driving a truck in actual traffic environment
*Once the student successfully completes the course, He/She will receive a Certificate of Completion.
REFUND POLICY
ALAMO TRUCK DRIVING SCHOOL will terminate student's participation in any of our programs and issue a refund according to the following:
› If a student discontinues the training during the first week of the course he/she is eligible for a refund in the amount of 80 % of the total tuition cost.
› If a student discontinues the training during the second week of the course he/she is eligible for a refund in the amount of 60 % of the total tuition cost.
› If a student discontinues the training during the third week of the course he/she is eligible for a refund in the amount of 40 % of the total tuition cost.
› If a student discontinues the training during the fourth week of the course he/she is eligible for a refund in the amount of 20 % of the total tuition cost.
› No refund will be issued during the fifth and the sixth week of the course.
› All refunds will be sent directly to the institution that issued the payment.
